Basic Writing: Sentence Composition

Basic Writing: Sentence Composition is designed as a supplementary textbook for English Grammar and Usage, a required English course for English for Business Communication program offered at Sripatum University. Its main objective is to review essential English structure so as to provide students with fundamental background that will enable them to write and express their thoughts meaningfully.
This textbook is designed to train students with fundamental English background to recognize and write complete sentences. Many tasks are intentionally left open-ended to allow students with different backgrounds to practice and advance at their own paces. Based on the authentic use of the English language, the contents of this book are systematically organized, explained, and practiced in a communicative, student-centered setting. Few grammatical terms are used in the book. It is so planned to shift the students' attention from learning traditional grammar terms to exploring the language itself. Upon completion of this course, the successful learners should be ready to practice writing various types of paragraphs.
