การศึกษาเปรียบเทียบคำรื่นหูในภาษาไทยและภาษาจีน (A Comparative Study of Chinese and Thai Euphemism)

The research aimed to compare patterns and connotative meanings of euphemism derived from forbidden Thai and Chinese words or phrases. The data were collected from printed documents, dictionaries, related research studies available both in Thai and Chinese, as well as from authentic language situations. The data in Thai are searched from Pantip.com website while those in Chinese were obtained from tieba.baidu.com website. It was found that euphemism in both languages were both similar and different. Euphemism related to physical and social objects were similarly used while euphemism and forbidden words related to third gender were differently used.

The paper was published in Sripatum Chonburi Journal in 2017.
