มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม วิทยาเขตชลบุรี เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยเอกชนแห่งแรกในภาคตะวันออก ซึ่งจัดตั้งขึ้นเพื่อขยายโอกาส ทางการศึกษาในระดับอุดมศึกษาสู่ภูมิภาคเมื่อวันที่ 1 เมษายน 2530 โดยพระมหากรุณาธิคุณจากสมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าจุฬาภรณ์วลัยลักษณ์อัครราชกุมาร โปรดเกล้าฯ เสด็จเป็นองค์ประธานเปิดป้ายนาม "มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม วิทยาเขตชลบุรี" เมื่อวันที่ 19 กรกฎาคม 2530

Sripatum University at Chonburi is the first private university in the eastern region of Thailand. It was established to expand educational opportunities at the tertiary level to the regional area on April 1, 1987. The opening ceremony was presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak, who graciously unveiled the name "Sripatum University, Chonburi Campus" on July 19, 1987.

คณะศิลปศาสตร์ เป็นหนึ่งในคณะแรกเริ่มของวิทยาเขตชลบุรี ซึ่งก่อตั้งขึ้นด้วยปณิธานในการจัดการศึกษาของมหาวิทยาลัยในการสร้างบัณฑิตที่พร้อมทั้งทางด้านวิชาการ มีปัญญา มีความเชี่ยวชาญ และมีทักษะในสาขาอาชีพ ประกอบด้วยการดำรงชีวิตที่แจ่มใสเบิกบาน มีคุณธรรม

One of the pioneering faculties at Chonburi Campus, the School of Liberal Arts was founded with the vision of managing the university's educational offerings to produce graduates who are academically adept, knowledgeable, skilled in their professions, and able to lead fulfilling and ethical lives.

ปัจจุบัน คณะศิลปศาสตร์ได้เปิดสอนหลักสูตรศิลปศาสตรบัณฑิต (ศศ.บ.) จำนวน 2 สาขาวิชา ได้แก่ ภาษาอังกฤษสื่อสารธุรกิจ (English for Business Communication) และภาษาจีนสื่อสารธุรกิจ (Chinese for Business Communication) เป็นที่ทราบกันดีว่าภาษาอังกฤษ และภาษาจีน เป็นภาษาต่างประเทศที่ใช้ติดต่อสื่อสารในโลกธุรกิจมากที่สุด 2 อันดับของโลก และการท่องเที่ยวก็เป็นอุตสาหกรรมอันดับต้นๆที่สร้างเงินมหาศาลเข้าประเทศไทยมาโดยตลอด ดังนั้นทั้งสามหลักสูตรข้างต้นจึงตอบโจทย์ความต้องการด้านแรงงานของประเทศไทย อาเซียน และโลกได้เป็นอย่างดี เพราะนอกจากแต่ละหลักสูตรจะเรียนรู้ทฤษฎีและฝึกฝนทักษะต่างๆในวิชาเอกของตนเองอย่างเข้มข้นแล้ว ทั้งสามหลักสูตรยังเน้นให้ผู้เรียนได้เรียนภาษาต่างประเทศที่สองและการจัดการธุรกิจสมัยใหม่อีกด้วย นอกจากนี้แล้วคณะศิลปศาสตร์ยังได้พัฒนาบุคลิกภาพ ความมั่นใจในตนเองและจิตบริการให้นักศึกษาอย่างจริงจังและต่อเนื่อง บัณฑิตของคณะศิลปศาสตร์จึงเป็นผู้ที่มีคุณสมบัติครบตามที่หน่วยงานต่างๆทั้งภาครัฐและเอกชนต้องการ

Currently, the School of Liberal Arts offers two bachelor's degree programs: English for Business Communication and Chinese for Business Communication. It is common knowledge that English and Chinese are the top two most widely used foreign languages for business communication globally. Therefore, these two programs cater well to the workforce needs of Thailand, ASEAN, and the world, as they not only provide intensive theoretical learning and skill-building in their respective fields but also focus on second language acquisition and modern business management. Additionally, the School of Liberal Arts has developed students' personalities, self-confidence, and service-oriented attitudes earnestly and continuously. Graduates from the School of Liberal Arts possess the desired qualities sought after by both public and private sector organizations.

สำหรับหลักสูตรภาษาจีนสื่อสารธุรกิจ เป็นหลักสูตรพิเศษที่จัดการเรียนการสอนร่วมกันกับมหาวิทยาลัยกุ้ยโจว ประเทศสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน เป็นหลักสูตร 2+2 คือในชั้นปีที่ 1-2 เรียนที่มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม วิทยาเขตชลบุรี ชั้นปีที่ 3-4 เรียนที่มหาวิทยาลัยกุ้ยโจว เมื่อสำเร็จการศึกษา นักศึกษาจะได้รับปริญญาจากทั้งสองมหาวิทยาลัย

As for the Chinese for Business Communication program (2+2 Program), it is a special program that collaborates with Guizhou University in the People's Republic of China. As a 2+2 program, the students study in the first and second years at Sripatum University at Chonburi, and in the third and fourth years at Guizhou University. Upon completion of studies, students will receive degrees from both universities.
